We’re hiring a front-end developer

UPDATE: We’ve found just the right person for this position. Subscribe to the blog or follow us on social media to get further updates about people we’re looking for to join the team.

Are you a front-end developer? Do you do great work ― and want to get your code under people’s noses? Lots of people’s? At Moskito Design our small team of front-end developers develop over 1000 responsive newsletters a year for a 10 million-recipient base using every email client available. Among our international clients we count a couple of the biggest and most cutting-edge platforms on the planet. Now we’re about to embark on a bold new journey that’s going to give us new international reach, new capabilities, and big new opportunities for growth.

And to do it we need another front-end developer to join the team.

But before I get into what’s required, I want to make one thing clear: we’re not looking to somebody to fill a job vacancy, but create a role.

In the last four years Moskito Design has been enjoying rapid evolution, and we’ve always made space for team members to contribute their energy, their strength, and their ambition to the goals and objectives of the team. That means your personality and potential will weigh as much as ― or more than ― your experience.

New tools, new tasks, new challenges and new ambitions: at Moskito Design we grow every day. And if you’re the right person for this role, you’ve got to be ready to do that, and do it as part of the team.

The front-end developer we’re looking for is a:

Born problem-tackler

Nobody’s got the solution to every problem, and you don’t either. But when you see one coming, you don’t flinch. You charge it head-on. Your best weapons in this fight are your curiosity, enthusiasm and perseverance in pursuit of an answer. You’ll research the right tools, techniques and strategies and figure out how to apply them ― or know when you need assistance to help you take that next step.

Sharp-eyed detail catcher

With fast turnaround times for development on such a variety of email clients, you’ll have to have a sharp eye for the details that might make all the difference between a successful sendout and sorry do-over.

Multi-dimensional team-player

Once upon a time at Moskito, there were no separate roles ― every job was everybody’s job. With scale, of course, that’s changed, but to some degree we’ve still kept that spirit alive: you’re not a peg to simply be stuffed into a front-end developer hole. Depending on workload, you’ll be ready to help out with other agency projects, from responsive websites, to landing pages, to banners ads.

Winning communicator (in English, too!)

It’s as cliched as it is true: good communication is essential to the success of any relationship. At Moskito Design you’ll work in direct written contact with people in a variety of international client-company positions ―  from account managers, to marketing managers to technical quality assurance specialists. And with all of them you’ll have to build rapport, maintain a friendly flow of Italian & English communication and helpfully work to find the right solution ― despite the ever-present pressure of deadlines.

Just as importantly, you’ll need to do the same with your colleagues, team leader and principals ― even though you know it’s never the developers who get the glory when things go right.

Well?

If that sounds like you (or someone you know), go to our website’s Work With Us page for more details about the technical requirements of the job and how to apply.
